Detailed Itinerary

14:30 – Hotel Pickup in Tozeur or Nefta
Your local driver-guide will meet you at your hotel. After a short briefing, depart in a private 4×4 toward the desert west of Tozeur.

15:00 – Stop at Chott el Gharsa (Salt Flats)
Begin your adventure with a photo stop on the shimmering white salt flats of Chott el Gharsa. Depending on the season, you may witness shallow water reflections or dry, cracked earth stretching to the horizon — both ideal for photography.

15:30 – Arrival at Ong Jemel (“Camel’s Neck”)
This dramatic rock formation rises out of the desert and resembles a camel’s head and neck. It’s a natural landmark and one of the most famous filming sites used in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Walk around the base or climb for a wide panoramic view of the surrounding desert.

16:00 – Explore the Mos Espa Set (Star Wars Film Site)
Just beyond Ong Jemel, visit the fully preserved Mos Espa film set, used to depict Anakin Skywalker’s home village on the planet Tatooine. Walk through the outer structures and domed buildings, imagining the world of podracers, droids, and galactic travelers.

16:45 – Return drive to Tozeur via desert trails
Optionally stop at panoramic viewpoints along the way as your driver shares stories about the history of the area and its film legacy.
